Visual Communications Lab Image Coder

What happens when you push image-compression technologies beyond their current limits? The result is the Visual Communications Lab image coder (VCL Coder), which offers up to a 30% savings in bit-rate over the current state-of-the-art JPEG-2000 standard.

The VCL Coder achieves superior compression performance by means of better human visual system modeling, better context modeling, and better encoding strategies. For more information, please click on the links provided in the navigation pane located at the left-hand side of the screen.
